Tow lights color connections January 28, 2010, 03:46:16 pm Yahoo Message Number: 109533We decided to drag the toad's lights cable on the pavement the other day. That turned out not to be such a good idea. We got a replacement plug and were ready to put it on the end of the cable. The wire colors do not match! This is four wire round connector. It has the same colors as flat four wire: brown, yellow, green, white. The cable however, has different colors: black, yellow, red, white. If yellow goes to yellow and white to white, what connects to brown? black or red? There should be a law about such.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

You will have to do a "trial and error" to get the cable from the car to get the match. We had a similar problem not too long ago and with a couple of alligator clip wires, I got it squared. I did blow a fuse in the LD and had to use the Ford manual to ascertain which fuse I blew.Bob in FL SE 5__

After actually thinking about it, I got out the VOM, put the connecters in the same attitude, with the key up, and found out which color wire went to which hole. I'll connect it this morning, so look for sparks in the southern sky.Now back to Kindle readers.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
