While the Whatcom County fairground is located in the quaint Dutch town of Lynden, WA, Birch Bay State Park is located on a bay of the Strait of Georgia and is a little closer to the venues in Vancouver as well as Whistler. I don't think a comparison of Winter in Breckenridge, CO and NW Washington is fair; our recent January temperatures have been highs around 50 and lows around 40. You might want to be prepared for some light rain, however.Other things you might want to consider if you want to go is the availability and price of the venue you want to see and note that an "approved travel document" is required to get back into the US. For most folks, that means a Passport. Rich Gort - Birch Bay (Blaine) WA - a stones throw from the I-5 border crossing - 2000 MB

Reply #3 – January 27, 2010, 04:51:32 pm Yahoo Message Number: 109510During the Vancouver Expo, we hooked up at a campsite in White Rock, I believe, just outside the city limits of Vancouver. Although we towed, we ended up just taking a city bus into the fair. Worked out great. Of course that was in 1986, so things probably have changed -and probably completely, but I would suggest checking to see if the campground is still there.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
