Pretty nice starter rig for the right price. What would be a fair bid on something like this? I'm assuming it has the chevy 350?

"I'd love to see this rig with new interior paint, pergo, upholstery, and a maybe a snazzy countertop!"

In Texas, don't forget air conditioning.

Just an observation, if you look at the cabover (1st picture) that looks like a good bit of corrosion, indicating a pretty possible leak in that overhead.

You know what the first rule of Rving is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a rig to the road you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

We have the same problem with our 85. I have read the threads here that claim its a water leak or electralsis of some sort. I am not convinced of that theory. I think it was a piss poor paint job applied way back in the mid eighties that has a terrible time sticking to aluminum. Ours is peeling off and I hope someday to get a new paint job. Not sure if I can afford that, but will have to see. John 85fl.

Looking at that first photo, I'm inclined to think that it's probably just paint that's peeling off the exterior, rather than corrosion caused by a leak. I saw similar peeling on my 1985 LD, "Gertie."
However, Kate's warning is worth heeding, because any rig that's 25 years old is likely to have suffered leaks at some point in its lifetime, and a Lazy Daze's wooden frame means that a leak can do significant damage.
A 1984 Lazy Daze like this one has two especially vulnerable areas: the seven-section roof has many seams that can leak (the factory switched to a one-piece roof in late 1985); and the front overcab window is a notorious leak source. (Does anybody know what year the factory eliminated that window, by the way? Our "Lazy Daze Models Through the Years" document doesn't say.)
The bottom line is that any rig this old--even a Lazy Daze--should be carefully and thoroughly inspected before you commit to a purchase (and making a bid on eBay is committing to purchase if you win). Our website's Files > Buying & Selling area has a document called "How do I shop for a used LD?" that includes an inspection checklist.
