The only vent that was never covered with one of those covers was the one in the bathroom. Whenever we were using heat from any source (stove, electric space heater, furnace, etc.), we had that bathroom vent open at least one inch. Sometimes, while cooking, for example, we had more than one vent or window open. When using the air conditioner, all vents were closed (except for brief use when showering, cooking, etc.We did not have any major condensation issues. Hope this helps.Sharon N. Crossville, TN
Re: Doghouse? ..Raining inside the coach Reply #3 – December 14, 2009, 11:26:15 pm Yahoo Message Number: 108541"we are getting a lot of condensation on the roof vent and fan metal frames." Lazy Daze sells covers that are custom-fitted to the vents and the escape hatch (if you have one. They're made of heavy vinyl lined with polyurethane insulating foam, and snap into place with supplied hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if you can find these at local RV suppliers as well, since the vents are pretty standard. (Note that a slightly different cover is required for vents with Fan-Tastic fans, because their mounting screws are differently positioned. Be sure to specify which type of vent you have in mind.) Another possibility is the widely available "vent plug" cushion, a 14" square by 3" thick foam block usually covered in fake lambswool. You can shove it up into the vent, and it stays in place by friction. Most RV suppliers carry these. However, the vinyl covers have a couple of advantages. First, they cover the *whole* vent, not just the inside. Also, they fold flat for storage, unlike the vent plugs. But either one will prevent condensation.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/
