Let's Get to the Important Stuff

Never mind Don's worry about keeping warm, what about hairdryers that are 1500 watts max!  I've been looking for a new hairdryer and of course the latest standard (Target, Wal-Mart, Kohl's) is 1875 watts...which would definitely not work for more than 15 seconds.
 Anyone got a good clue as to where to find a 1500 watt max hairdryer...and no, I'm not going to slick it back and make like I'm 18 again and just off the beach.

Laugh if you will, but I would try a secondhand store, Good Will, etc. They have lots of good used appliances that are earlier models (and, for hairdryers, that means lower wattage). I have an antique that operates at 1200 watts that I carry in my suitcase "just in case." The one I use daily is 1500 watts, and it's probably 10 years old and still going strong.

I bet you could find one at the local Salvation Army for under $5.

 A Google search on 'hair dryer 1500w' turns up quite a few. That said, I've been using a 900W travel hair dryer from Brookstone for quite a few years now, and it works fine. I like it because it takes up very little space when its handle is folded. Admittedly, I'm bald on top, but my hair is longer than shoulder length around the sides and back, yet I can dry it in two minutes with this little guy. Brookstone's no longer carries this model, but there are plenty of choices in travel hair dryers:

Hi Tina,
 Same problem here:  I turn off the coffee pot, and my little portable heater, and use the hair dryer.  This method works fine for as long the hair dryer is needed.

We mounted a hotel style wall-mounted hairdryer in the bathroom and love the convenience of it!
