City water September 20, 2009, 11:24:44 am Yahoo Message Number: 106013I just read the section below and got to wondering.. Am I able to fill my fresh water holding tank automaticly while I am connected to city water? If that is possibly, or if I can install a retrofit device to do that, I think life would be good. I have a 96 30IB. Just wondering.. Ed

If that is possibly, or if I can install a retrofit device to do that, I think life would be good. --- No, filling the fresh water tank requires a "manual outside fill", i.e., you stand there with the hose and whistle/sing/zone out/talk to somebody/plan your next trip/try to keep the water from spurting and slopping out all over your shirt and shoes/examine the "desert pinstripes" on the side of your rig/whatever while the tank fills. The "filler" on the *end* of the hose varies; I use an inline filter and a plastic fill tube, and others may use something else. Cheers, DonDon In a word, NO! The system is not designed for water to flow backwards. The pump has a diaphram which allows water to flow ONLY from it's input to the output. If, as someone posted, water flowed from the city inlet, through the pump and into the fresh water tank then something is seriously wrong with that pump. Where is the problem with running a hose to the fresh water inlet and filling the tank as it was designed to be done? ? ? ? ?Steve S. Lazy Bones & Jiggs
