Be it known on this board, that my wife, Elizabeth, did, without assistance, prepare and pack up our '02 MB, navigate to a destination over 100 miles away and set up a command center for a two night, dry, campout.  During this time, she verified level, operated the  refrigerator on gas, ran water heater for showers, operated the generator, DVD and TV.  To prepare for the return, she verified all systems ready for the road including closing all vents and windows.  Shut down refrigerator while filling main gas tank and restarted refrigerator.  She further emptied both holding tanks, unassisted, without incident and navigated successfully back to home base.
As a Master LD Pilot, I now certify her as Solo LD Pilot with the prestige and privileges  implied thereto.

Excellent! Congratulations, Elizabeth! What I want to know is, did Elizabeth receive the equivalent of flight wings?  Perhaps a gold-plated sewer hose, or ?  ;^D

The tradition is to cut of the new solo pilot's shirt tails. The back of their T-shirt is often substituted nowadays though, as tails are getting rare. Also they often get a big bucket of water dumped on them from behind.
I have no idea of why they treat new pilots this way - - just reporting on the facts.
BTW, pictures of these things taking place is both traditional and expected.

TO ELIZABETH NICKEY:  ATTAGIRLs x 10!!  There's no excuse now for you not to leave Roger at home and hoot and holler with many other similarly enlightened women at the next Ladeze event.  And I'm sure you have some great stories to tell!  We'd love to add your eddress to our mailing list... lazydaze-ladeze at earthlink dot net.
