Towing System Recommendation September 10, 2009, 01:29:21 pm Yahoo Message Number: 105752Nancy, I will add my recommendation for Roadmaster in Vancouver, WA. Their location is just a very short, easy drive from I-205. http://www.roadmasterinc.com/contact.html We were one of the first customers for their "Even Break" system. http://www.roadmasterinc.com/products/braking/even_brake.html The early model gave us some false readings. Almost a year later Roadmaster pleasantly exchanged it for an improved version which works well. The minor inconvenience ( think rain and kneeling on the ground securing the arm to the car's brake pedal ) is the installing and removing the of system as car needs dictate. On our Winter travels if we know we'll be experiencing rain overnight we try to make sure we stay in a campground that offers a pull through site, and don't unhook, or at least get a cement pad if we'll be unhooking. Bess and I have the routine down rather well where I install the "Protect a Tow" http://protectatow.tripod.com/ while she, with smaller hands, installs the Even Brake. Under the best weather conditions, we usually finish at the same time in about four minutes. Then we test the turn signals. At the time of the "Even Brake" purchase we thought we'd soon be buying a new car and didn't want the expense of installing a non portable braking system in the old one and then a new one. So with your having a new car we'd suggest reviewing this sites archives for recommendations on permanently installed braking systems. Bill Atkins "Merlot" 02 RB SW Sunny Washington
