27 MB Drivers Seat Adjustment

I am interested in the 27 MB model, but I am 6' 4" and I am concerned about the available rearward driver's seat adjustment. With the refrigerator right behind the driver's seat, does it limit the seat adjustment? Do you get more space/legroom in another model such as the 27 RB?

I too was interested in the MB, but ended up going with the RK for that very reason (BTW, if you look at floor plans, the RK is just reversed MB, except it gives you the option of an entertainment center, which the MB does not). I am 6'2" and I like the seat pushed back and the seat back leaned back some, and don't believe the MB would have done for me. OTOH, the RK works perfectly for us, and (we only travel just the 2 of us) we really enjoy having the large entertainment center, both for movie watching and for the huge amount of extra storage space it gives us.

Of course, YMMV, Lee

You can adjust the seat more in the RK, than in the MB.
That said, I am 6' 4" and I have no issue with driving comfort in the MB. I like all of the floor plans, but the three windows in the MB are our entertainment center.

Starting with the 2008 model, Ford stretched the cab 4" to accommodate taller drivers. 4" more leg room.
That's why LD now makes a 27' model rather than a 26'6' model.
A few weeks ago at a campground, a really tall guy asked if he could come in, sit in the drivers seat, stand under the A/C unit plus lay down on the bed. Why not? The LD passed all the Tall Guy tests.
When you own a Lazy Daze you just have to get used to the attention.
Part of the fun.

Hi Ed,
IIRC, we were told that the increased length in the 2008 E450 chassis was all in the new "tougher Ford look" grill and that Ford intentionally kept all of the basic cab dimensions intact to keep the upfitters and cut-away customers happy.
I just did some Googling and it appears that even the 2010 specs on legroom remain at the same 40 inches it was in 2007. When Steve told us this at the Mothership, we decided to get Arby built on the 2007 model rather than delay our purchase until the 2008s arrived.

--- I also was told by LD that the reason for the length designation change from 26.5' to 27' was due to the longer "grill nose" on the E-450 (and E-350 that is standard for the 23.5/24'). AFAIK, all cab dimensions remained the same....???

Joan, when did Lazy Daze go back to using the E-350 for the smaller models? Our 2004 23.5' TK was on an E-450 chassis.  That's certainly a step backward if they've gone back to using the E-350 chassis!

Sorry for any confusion, and thanks for catching me up! ;-)

Whew!  ;-)
Yes, I think I'd opt for the larger V-10 engine even on the smaller chassis instead of the standard V-8 engine.  Less work *should* translate into better fuel mileage, not to mention more power going up those hills, particularly when towing.
