Unfortunately, this sort of portable alarm is not very effective in my opinion. Too easily disabled - - bad guy has only to stomp on it.
We've had instances, though admittedly they are uncommon, where a bad guy has ripped one of my companies keypads from the wall. Of course the main "control box", with all the electronics, is hidden away in a remote location where it's fairly safe from the bad guy. This is not the case with inexpensive self contained alarms.

Agree with ya Bumper -
The best defense is to become familiar and aware of your surrounding - don't put yourself in a place where you immediately feel uncomfortable.
In our situation I have to be chief of everything due to Jim's health.
We never overnight in removed places - if we use a Flying J etc we hug a lighted area. At night even when staying in a place several days I always put in the electric step as it becomes a distraction to the bad guy who might jerk open our coach door, giving me a second or two of leverage - We've had door knocks for gas, jump start, money, food, never do we open the door - I talk them from overhead bunk window which they can't reach - keep big windows locked.
I sleep with the coach and car keys next to me as have had couple times to press the panic button to ward of someone, which have had to do on occasion.
Unless you are trained and continue to train in firearms, pepper spray, etc don't use them - your best defense is to not park in certain places, keep your front end where can drive off easily - keep low profile -
We have met many ladies full-timing and most of them are senior citizens, many boon-dock and all are very savvy about life - Go out with confidence and enjoy RVing the way you want to RV -
