Seat belts in dinette in my 84LD RB August 19, 2009, 10:59:45 am Yahoo Message Number: 105029Good morning, I have read through all the seat belt info in the archives but cannot find reference to anyone attempting or successfully added seatbelts in the dinette area. That's where our grandkids will sit and watch their DVDs while travelling. I cannot imagine having way back there in the rear lounge (o seatbelts tere either). What are the possibilities of installing the seatbelts somewhere under the dinette seating? As I remove the cushions, I see wood, but where might be the best place to attach?thanks Cathi

They cannot be anchored to the seat itself or the cabinetry. Rather, they should be anchored to the floor by drilling completely through the floor. Then through-bolts, with large "fender" washers on the underside (to prevent pull through) are used to secure the seatbelt tangs or brackets to the floor. Since the bolt hardward cannot be cinched up tight (or it will crush the foam and floor panels) nyloc or other self locking nuts should be used. If attempting this as a DIY project, it is important to use caution drilling through the floor as in spots there are important things underneath that you don't want to hit!
