battery location inside

We removed the furnace and put 12 volt deep cycle batteries from Costco in that compartment. It will hold 3 but we put two. The vents from the furnace will vent the batteries. So far that has been a good solution.
We left the isle wall open and wedged a 600 watt inverter against the fresh water tank.
Here is a picture of the compartment where we removed the furnace for the batteries: http://www.flickr.com/photos/safoocat/2932629262/in/set-72157607826626518/ The vents can be seen in the back.

If anyone wants the furnace they can have it. It worked fine when we took it out last year and it's been stored inside since then, free to a good home. best, Michelle Ress

Additional batteries would likely have to be inside somewhere, which means all four would have to be replaced with AGMs. (wet cells need to vented to the outside) I have not wanted to step up to that bar yet  :)
The only thing I have done was to replace the HPV-22 with an HPV-22B (direct swap). So I could turn the dumb thing off with a switch. (I'll never understand LD for not offering the B model)
