New roof for a 1984 22ft Daizy

Hello again, We are getting estimates to have the exterior cleaned up then resealed and painted.
One of the bidders mentioned that the only right way to do the job was to completely remove the roof, clean it up, "relaminate" it, because the lamination is worn off, then paint and put it back on?
Anyone have experience with this?  Our roof is aluminum as far as we can tell???

Thanks Cathi

If by lamination wearing off they are referring to the fact the aluminum is no longer bonded to the plywood layer underneath - find another shop. It never was laminated, and far as I know, this is never done with aluminum. Sounds like a con job, or extreme lack of experience.

Your roof was never laminated. It's made of seven sheets of aluminum, laid over a plywood substrate but not attached to it except at the edges, and of course at penetrations like vents.
I'd scratch that bidder off my list, if I were you. As Steve said, he's either clueless or trying to con you.
