finding campgrounds online August 02, 2009, 06:47:36 pm Yahoo Message Number: 104424Hi! I thought I had previously seen an online resource for finding camping spots on the internet, but now, in my favorites, all I can find is the website for finding dump stations all over.IS there such a site? I am trying to find someplace close to our daughter's home which is in No. San Antonio off the outer loop and all the guides my brother gave us with the motorhome are IN the motorhome which is still out in storage. She is visiting here and I wanted to see if there was someplace she knew that was nearby her home. We can't park in front of her home because she lives on an almost 45 degree slope and has a likewise driveway. No amount of leveling would work...LOL.. Besides which she lives in a gated community and I'm sure it would not be allowed.hopeful thanks, LouAnne in No. CA (http://www.lazydazeowners.com/ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Been very helpful in our both of our 7-month trips, as well as our maiden voyage Mothership to Maine for 9.5 weeks. Easy to use and, we think, reliable.TinaP 2006 MB "Wild Thing" LD 2967 - NELD 59

Good luck.Joan

When the site comes up, find Texas then click on "MAP." A map of the entire state will appear, but you will need to enlarge it to focus in on regions. It will show private, state, NFS parks, then click on the icon for specifics. Traveling in unfamiliar areas, it has helped me a lot. http://www.allstays.com/Campgrounds/campgrounds.htmGood luck!Lorna, Ocoee River, TN blog: http://uppity-woman.blogspot.com/

Re: finding campgrounds online Reply #6 – August 05, 2009, 10:40:08 am Yahoo Message Number: 104528LouAnne and Tessa, I've stayed in the Guadalupe River State Park a couple of times. (It is the closest state park to our home.) It is nice, but my objection to it is that when they made the RV area, they put it pretty far from the river in the woods, despite the name of the park. The river is within walking distance, but it is a long walk, and no views from the RV area. Guadalupe River State Park is OK as a base to visit San Antonio, but for more scenic camping I might rather recommend one of the several commercial campgrounds along River Road that runs parallel to the Guadalupe River from Canyon Lake to New Braunfels: http://www.rioraft.com/ http://www.klranchcamp.net/ http://www.rockinr.com/ http://www.hill-country-visitor.com/New_Braunfels_Texas/RV_Camping/RV_ParksIt is only about 20 minutes down I35 from New Braunfels to San Antonio. There is also dump sites at the rest area along the way. I can't be more specific as I have never camped in one of the River Road parks (too close to home), but they look nice as you drive by and River Road itself is a very scenic drive..Barry Where are we? http://map.datastormusers.com/user1.cfm?user=122
