Lance, I am not sure about the 2005 but the 2008 and 2009 fresh water capacities for the MB are 58 gallons.

Tank capacities for your 2005 midbath are 58 gallons fresh, 35 gallons gray, and 28 gallons black. That's also true for Bill's 2006, according to the factory's spec sheets for 2005 and 2006.

When boondocking (which we do 99% of the time), our '05 MB black water tank fills first and appears to be the limiting factor for length of stay. This occurs even though we flush quickly and try to minimize use of the rinse wand.
Just wondering if other MB owners experience this, and if anyone has installed a small 1/4 turn ball valve in the flush feed line to cut down on volume of incoming flush water when the toiled is being flushed?

Ken,
I have a 2005 MB and it is 58 gallons of fresh - 52 gal. in the tank and 6 gal. in the hot water heater.  It would not surprise me if it's what you have as well.

I just spoke with the factory yesterday and they told me the specs are the same each year by model. I would also recommend, if you have not, you read Travels With Andy and the chapter on gauges.

Andy, That's what I thought but when we were at the mothership in February (sitting in the Kodiak talking with Steve), Steve was emphatic that both the black and gray tanks were 28 gallons. Since he designs and builds them,I went with his figures in my original reply.

I would like to remove the carpeted area in the 'living room' of my 1995 26.5' Island Bed.? Has anyone here 'been there, done that'?? I was wondering how far the kitchen linoleum extended and what kinds of problems there would be if I had non-carpeting in ALL of this area.? My thoughts are to leave the carpet in the cab, under the driver and passenger seats, since it is still good.

Thanks in advance for your help! Carol & Mz Happy Daze

I have a 2000 Rear Kitchen, not a 1995 Island Bed, so my experience may not match yours directly.  For example, I'm not sure which part is the "living room"
Anyway, last year I removed the vinyl tiles from the kitchen (they simply peeled away) and all of the carpet from the cab back (carpet came up easily -- after cutting it into sections -- but LOTS of staples in the padding).  I left the sheet vinyl in the bathroom, also.
I installed light oak patterned composite planks (4" x 4'), the type that click-lock one to the next.  It was relatively easy, despite all the cutting for the edges.  There are various bolt heads in the floor beneath the carpeting.  The bolts that hold the "house" to the frame are carriage head bolts.  If you cut a hole in the foam sheeting that goes under the composite, you can lay the flooring right over these.  But there are also hex head bolts that bolt the propane tank to the floor.  I replaced those with same size carriage head bolts and that worked fine.  The edges are finished with matching trim pieces that look like quarter-round until you look closely -- one side is wider than the other.
We're very happy with the results.  You will have to clean the floor more often, since everything shows up on the light wood.  On the other hand, it's so easy to clean -- the carpet always felt dirty.

Hope this helps  /noel/

AFAIK, the tank capacities of all models have been consistent for the past several years.

"Are the factory spec sheets published online?"
The current spec sheet is on the company's LazyDaze.com website, and Terry Tanner's "techsnoz" Yahoo group has a good collection of older ones in its Files section.

Thanks for the info!? I plan on having the work done, since the arthritis in my hands will not allow me to do it myself.? I am toying with visiting with a carpet store and doing some tall talking, 'cause them seat belt floor attachments have to be dealt with.
My '95 26.5' IB can best be compared to the 30' & now, 31/32' IB.? Unless LD did?design modification for the 26.5'ers, I have the self same set-up.?
The 'living area' is the area in front of my mid-bath...between the driver/passenger seat and the bath.? Because of the lack of length, the bedroom does not have very much room at the foot of the bed and the TV stand is mounted on the driver side wall.? The bedroom is on one side of the wall and the throne room is on the other side.
(And, to chime in on the head banging issue....I did bang my head the first couple of times...but, my head has learned the hurtful way, to dodge them there corners.

The seat belt attachments really aren't any trouble. The nut, flat-washer and anchor must be removed before the carpet comes out.  The installer will simply drill holes in the flooring to accommodate the bolts, then replace the anchor, flat washer, and nut after the flooring has been laid.
