Generator Premature Shut-down Issue
Yahoo Message Number: 104000
Been following the "Generator Start Issue" thread so thought I'd jump in with a different angle...
I've had several instances where my generator, after initial start up, would shut down for no apparent reason. No, it's not the fuel level in the tank, in some cases the tank was plumb full.
Happened to be at an RV Repair shop yesterday when the need arose to run the genset. It ran fine for about 3-4 minutes and then shut down. I had just under ½ of a tank of gas. The technician I was working with set out to find the problem. Turned out to be a 3" section of cracked fuel line at the output of the tank. That connects to a 9' piece of plastic fuel line running forward to the genset. I had the whole thing replaced with a 9' length of steel fuel line, from the tank all the way to the genset. I'll bet I won't have any more trouble like that for some time to come.
