I've published an updated version of WxToad's Eastern US Public Campgrounds POI list, which you can find at good ole Toad Hall
http://www.wxtoad.com/index.asp?page=gps/gps1.htm> .  I've unearthed an additional 479 public campgrounds east of the Mississippi, for a total of 2258 locations.   I've also expanded the information provided for each location, namely data on hookups, dump facilities, showers and in some cases fees.

I cannot guarantee its accuracy, although I've spent many hours researching these, trying to verify as best I could.  Should you find that rare error (VBG), please let me know.  And if you know of any campgrounds not on my list, tell me about it and I'll add them.
