Water tank sensor/indicator May 11, 2009, 01:22:47 am Yahoo Message Number: 102254Hi All,The top green indicator for the water tank on my 2003 LD has more or less quit working. When the tank is full and I push the "Readout Display"switch on the range hood, the top green indicator blinks on briefly and then extinguishes. All other indicators work fine. It's not all that important as it just tells when the water tank is completely full, which is usually better indicated outside where one usually is located when filling water, by noting water coming out of the air vent by the filler hole. But I thought I'd see if anyone had experience with this and what the most likely problem is: the "bulb", something else in the range hood indicator panel or the sensor itself on the tank?Terry2003 26.5'RBGardnerville, NV (now in Prince Rupert heading north to Ketchikan in a few days)
Re: Water tank sensor/indicator Reply #1 – May 11, 2009, 01:53:27 pm Yahoo Message Number: 102267Terry, I believe those "bulbs" to be LEDs and they either work or don't. My guess for the problem would be the sensing contact inside the tank. Perhaps it's formed an insulating coating, or just very close to the level of the top of the water and not always getting enough current. Can you peek at the water level inside the tank? If you can see the level and it's above the sensor, basically a rivet through the tank wall, then the only thing I can suggest is a sanitizing rinse of the water tank.I've seen the ON then OFF indicator behavior on my holding tank indicators usually when the indicated level is close to actual.Alex Rutchka, SE #4 '06 MB
