Need Napa Valley travel advice.............

I will be visiting Napa Valley (staying at Petaluma KOA) this coiming August but will only have two days to visit the Napa Valley area.
Istead of having to buy a travel guide, can you guys give me some ideas as to things to do/places to see there...especially back roads to travel on to see the wineries, etc? Thanks!!

If you are going to visit Napa, stay in Napa.
Skyline Wilderness Park
http://www.ncfaa.com/skyline/skyline_park.htm> RV park located at the edge of Napa, inside a large wilderness park and equestrian center. They lock the gate at sundown and give you a key to get back in.  Nice garden to explore.

The Napa Valley is easy to navigate with main two roads running from the north to south (Hwy 29 up the westside and Silverado Trail to the east) and many cross roads.
Pick a map up at the first winery you visit to locate your favorites or check online. There are several hundred to choose from.

Favorite wineries to see Robert Mondavi Beringer Vineyards Niebaum Coppola

Favorite wineries to taste Whitehall Lane Winery Cakebread Duckhorn Domaine Chandon Mumm Napa Schramsberg (wife likes champagne)

Favorite eateries.
Mustards- been there for decades and always popular- show up early or make reservations.
Taylor's Refresher- gourmet hamburger stand with a wine list to shame many high-end restaurants

Best walks Bothe Napa Valley SP Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park.

You could spend weeks here. I'm sure others have their favorites.
Do not over do the wineries and enjoy the scenery.
August will be hot but the evenings cool off, more so as you head south toward the Bay.

Be aware that there is a charge for tasting at *most* wineries; the amount varies with the individual winery, the season, the amount of "traffic" the tasting room is experiencing, and sometimes, the whims of whoever is behind the tasting bar.

Larry's take on two days in the Napa area not being nearly enough time is surely right, but if that's the time you have, pace yourself accordingly!  ;-)

Just reading the list of vineyards jogged my memory.  Silverado Vineyards is owned by Ron and Diane Miller.  Diane is the only biological daughter of Walt Disney, and Ron ran the Studio (some say into the ground) after the death of Walt Disney.

I said it was useless!
