Loose screws February 10, 2009, 10:04:51 pm Yahoo Message Number: 99180It seems that the various drawer pull screws constantly are somewhat loose despite tightening them. Has anyone else run into this and did you find a solution?Jim C[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I find that a drop of white or yellow glue will keep things tight while allowing for future removal. For critical mechanical parts, it's Loctite all the way. BTW, Loctite is available in several degrees of strength. I use the green a lot. It can be applied to already assembled clean hardware. Save the red Loctite for things that will never be disassembled. http://tinyurl.com/2llln>Larry
Re: Loose screws Reply #4 – February 11, 2009, 11:53:54 pm Yahoo Message Number: 99221If you do have to remove Loctite, or some other adhesive that's been used to secure a fastener, the first step is to use a reasonable amount of force (torque) to do the job. Don't overdo it though, as the fastener may break or strip out. If a high strength adhesive threadlocker (like red Loctite) was used, then heat (about 200 degrees should do) will aid disassembly and perhaps prevent damaged fasteners. A propane torch can be used to apply the heat. If there are combustible materials or things that must be protected nearby, you can make a heat shield, with a suitable hole in it for the object, from aluminum flashing etc.all the best, bumper Yonder Minden NV
