Creating your own map with a Garmin GPS and Mapquest

Came across this article while reading the September issue of Popular Science.

It appears to only work with Garmin but I tried it out today and it works as described. My recent experience with my Nuvi is that it takes me on some routes that I would rather not take.
Prior to reading this I would create a route in Google maps and then pick points and create it again in the Nuvi. With this new to me method that will only happen once.

I'm not Jim, but a more direct link would be:

I hope the link doesn't get folded and that your browser supplies the "http://www ." prefix.
