I read that tonight the moon is supposed to be the closest to the earth of any time this year.  Unfortunately we're under cloud cover here in Santa Fe, but I thought some of you here might want to step outside and take a look.

Last night around 11:30p it was almost like daylight here in Tucson. There were some scattered clouds, but the full moon straight overhead was absolutely stunning. Attached is a picture that does it no justice at all, but you can get an idea on the brightness.
