Seriously, I was wondering what one does when they don’t get any answers from the group.  I don’t know who else to ask questions of.  Should I just ask again and look dumb (again) or if there are no answers then, live with it?

-- Judy, this link is from the "Database" section of the LD message board; it contains names of some "recommended" and "avoid" repair and service facilities in WA:

You'd have to check out the recommendations and see if a particular shop would do the work you require, but it's a place to start!  You might also want to post your question again and see if a northwest LDer might answer. Good luck.

Judy -

I can understand your frustration. With the wealth of posts on the forum sometimes a post or question may get overlooked by those who scan quickly or if one has no information pertaining to the query.

Also, if a question is in among one of the replies to an ongoing thread it may get missed. In addition to searching the archives and files you might want to re-ask the question as a new post.

Judy, this happens and the best way is to simply repost your question, stating that you hadn't gotten an answer and you want to make that your important question didn't get lost in the cybershuffle.

Hey Judy,

Here are some suggestions based on too many years in Yahoo Groups:

1.  Always start a new message to post a new topic:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/lifewithalazydazerv/post>

That way it is not hidden under another topic that's unrelated.

Be sure to give an indicative name to your post.

Put lots of returns in there.  People don't read paragraphs much.

Keep it as short as possible.

2.  Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle:  If you think this has  happened, just repost.  Don't take it personally. Offer things like  money, candy, and bribes.

3.  Sometimes people just don't know:  If you think this has  happened, then you can either:
a.  try another resource like rvnet.com
b.  email folks privately that you think might know, or
c.  maybe research it a little more and then repost to ask if anyone  knows about your research.

4.  If you post many questions (like me), then you won't get them all
answered, so you could space them out one day at a time to increase your hit rate.

Most of all, please don't take it personally.  Sometimes we wait for others more knowledgable to answer and then they don't and time passes with more water under the bridge and digests in the email. . .

Hope that helps, Tessa
