Help!
Over the last week our Costar carbon monoxide detector has been going off at odd times; I'm not talking "chirping."  We have a almost 1 year old 26.5 MB...detector situated over door. WFP has changed the battery (and used the recommended Duracell).  The door has either been open or closed, windows open or closed.  Not using catalytic heater...use gas stovetop burners.

Tonight we walked in after having been away for 4 hours to a full detector alarm (gods know for how long); LD locked up tight, left A/C on 73/auto, no stovetop cooking for a couple of days.

Any clues?  Rather not wake up dead...

--- The thing is probably telling you get out of the tornado warning area! ;-)
If you've changed the battery and reset the unit and it still shrieks, I would think that it's either doing its job, i.e., there's enough CO2 present (from whatever source) to set it off, or the unit is "bad" and should be replaced.  You might want to contact the manufacturer:

If you discover the cause of the alarm, please post what you find out; thanks.
