Arby the RV's Passenger-side Sofa "Leaner-Backer"

As you guys know, the RB's factory curbside sofa end-cap is cut too low to provide any back support for someone wanting to watch TV or read while reclining on the couch. Since I don't have ready access to Paul Grinde's more elegant solution, I had to create my own fix for now. It's a single piece of 1/2" birch plywood that solves the problem without making any cuts in the factory construction and requires no fasteners when in use. Because I like things that serve multiple purposes, the board will also provide a mounting point for a cup-holder and is stable/sturdy enough to grab when entering or exiting the coach.
In use, the gizmo slips in between the end of the sofa cushions and the existing end-cap. The bottom edge rests on the surface of the sofa-bed "pull-out" section. The cut-away on the left side allows the board to clear the sofa-back latch pin and go all the way to the coach wall at the top for additional support. Removal of the board is not necessary for bed extension or return.
Possible future enhancements include removable padding for the top edge and re-contouring the bottom edge to fit my middle better if used as a lapboard for writing or "computering". I'm an inveterate tinkerer and seldom ever declare a project finished. If you have any suggestions, I'm always open to them.
For those interested in details and dimensions, I've posted some pics in the Lazy Daze FOLD group on Flickr. The link follows:

Some other current mods not yet documented include a Scanguage II, the aquarium thermostat for the water-heater, full insulation for the passenger side under-sofa storage bay (Carol didn't like the cold air sneaking in), new auto-on LED tap-lights for all external bays and internal storage compartments, and "one-minute" privacy/insulation for the cab.

Also I want to thank all of you who've joined the FOLD group I've created on Flickr.  I'm really enjoying your pictures. Everyone here is welcome to join and basic Flickr accounts are free with a very simple sign-up.

Best Regards and Happy LD'ing,

George

As I have been enjoying your pictures, too. If anyone has not yet gone to Photophool's tagged pages, they are amazing. It is amazing what one can do with a styrofoam cup with a little modification. I want a close up lens now.
WOW!
Follow the link above and then click on the blue Photophool near the top right corner for the new stuff. Poke around for other stuff. You will be impressed. And if this is any indication of the modifications coming, YEEE-HAW!

Thank you, Brenda, I appreciate the kind words.

With respect to the photo pics, Kate pointed out that I had inadvertently marked them private so that only current Flickr FOLD group members could see them. I have corrected that now so if any other LazyDazers tried to look at them and were blocked, please try again. Here's the direct link:

Thanks again, George
