Do you wish you could bottle Joan and take her with you - or at least find her excellent info fast when you need it?

Would you like to have Larry W's, Bumper's, Terry's, etc mechanical knowledge, Kate's creativity, Andy's websites and pictures fast at hand, organized by the topic you're interested in reading about?

Do you panic when you realize that good info is hidden in group messages that are entitled something totally different since you may not find it again?

Are the Favorites on your computer overwhelming in number?
Do you have stacks of printed notes and no way to organize them - do they take up too much space/time/effort?
Do you remember that "someone said something" about your concern, but you can't find it anywhere?
Do you love Art's LD search engine as your only hope of ever finding that valuable info again?

Well, here is a tool for you- Our website LINKS!

What are Links?

Links can permanently store websites.
Links can be organized as folders within folders.  They can be cross- referenced.
Best of all, important messages from our LD yahoo group can be stored as a Link in an organized folder.

Once you know how our Links are organized, you can find info instantaneously, even if your brain is a sieve like mine.

I've made a stab at storing some of the good info from our Yahoo group.  It is a work in progress.

This does not replace the LD search engine.  It's just another organizational tool.

Now go take a peek at the Links and get oriented because in just a little while we're going to have a GAME - an information scavenger hunt to help you get acquainted with the resources available to you! It will be self-timed and very competitive.  Or just for fun.

Then you can give me feedback on what works and what needs changes.

Here are the Links on our website (see how the website is just the group name/links):

Nice work! Do you live next door to a Starbucks ?
Now I'm feeling guilty that I have not added any photos to my Flickr LD site for over a week. I do have a lot of Jeep photos to add to the Cherokee collection, if any one cares.
I'm not sure when you have any extra time to do your projects with all your travels,  three kids to raise and your long-suffering DH to keep happy. Maybe you have access to another dimension that has 48-hour days?

However you do it, keep up the good work.

I read your post thinking that somewhere in there, between the "Do you wish . . . do you panic . . . etc and the solution, would be, "Is that what's troubling you Bunkie" (g)

Good work,

Alrighty!  Ready for the Links Scavenger Hunt?  Yahoo!

The purpose is to familiarize you with the LINKS resource and show you how it can be used.  It is for fun and education.  Now what could be better than that?

Here again are our website LINKS:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/lifewithalazydazerv/links/>

You simply click on the words themselves to open each folder.  It's just like a file cabinet with folders inside folders.

See the trail at the top of the Links page as you click?  It looks like this:

Links > Improvements > Interiors

That Link trail shows you what folder you're in.  You can click anywhere on that trail to go back up it or just click LINK on the left menu.

This is not as hard as it sounds.  Give it a try!

Now here are the rules:

1.   This is self-timed.  No cheating. Serious fun.  :)
2.   Info must be provided in the format requested, i.e. Link  trail or the actual website.

3.   Info must be obtained only through the Links on our website
4.   I'll post the answers on the website later today (after the  Digest has gone out via email) and you can self-check and report your  score & timing
5.   Winner gets a *Gold Star* and wears the LD crown for the day-  a day of FAME!  Whoo-hoo!

Ready?  Get your timer ready!
 Go!

LINKS Scavenger Hunt Questions:
1.   Larry upgraded his converter.  What *model* did he use that  cost just $208?
2.   What *2 groups* specifically help fulltimers find work while  on the road? (Give their names)
3.   Where are the pictures of Larry W's *kayak lift*?  (give the  trail- just copy & paste it)
4.   What is the website for buying *Eureka!* Andy's fabulous CD  of improvements (give the website)
5.   Where is *Ginger's hilarious story* of her trip from Canada  to Virgina to get Lazy Lady? (give the LINK trail)
6.   Kate did many fabulous upgrades to *Chalula Red*.  Where can  I see her great ideas? (give the LINK trail)
7.   I want to travel to Canada.  Where's the site that Joan gave  on Canada and *what food is allowed across the border*? (give the  website)
8.   Have you seen *granite counters* in an RV?  What is that new  product called and where can I buy it? (give name and website)
9.   Where is the link for that Yahoo group that keeps up with the
*Walmarts* that allow overnight parking and puts all the info in their files? (Give LINK trail)

10.   I'm going to track that LD group going to Baja- where is a *Baja map* located? (Give the LINK trail)

11.   Where are *Bumper's pictures of the solar panels* on his roof?  How many solar panels are there? (Give the LINK trail and # of panels)

12.   In an old message, Bumper described how he altered *Yonder's wardrobe* to secure the table.  What is that message number?

**Extra Credit**: What is the name AND website for "that thingy that uses a brick to hold down the end of the sewer hose during dumping so it doesn't fly up and spray everywhere?"

I suppose it would be both wrong and inappropriate if someone doesn't post this link. So, since nobody has stepped up and accepted this responsibility, I guess it'll have to be me . . .

Nice job, Tessa!  It may be obvious to others but not to me; did you physically load the new files - computerly, I assume - and if so, how did you do it/what method did you use/how long did it take?

I re-organized the Files some months ago.  Unfortunately, Yahoo credits me when I simply moved it.  Someone else loaded the file, but since we had trouble finding things, Andy allowed me to reorganize.
Don't give me credit for the loading.

The Links are just websites. You just get into whatever folder is appropriate and click on "Add a Link".  Then you title it, paste in a website and click "Add".  You are, Chris, the Master of Websites as you always provide helpful ones to others.  Feel free to add more in.  Of course, if I reorganize it, Yahoo will give me credit, so just put it in an appropriate folder.  :)
I've been adding Links since that dreadful Book Fair Dinner in early November so it is not like they were overnight.  But it's pretty speedy pasting in websites.  Not hard at all.

Are you trying to get out of posting your scavenger hunt score and time by distracting me with questions??
