Just a quick note to let everyone know we are now officially members of the FOLD.

"Arby the RV" (our new 26.5 RB) is freshly fed, leveled and resting for the night in Ehrenburg, Arizona. The ICC ferry trip with Colin Moore of Moore Transport at the wheel was pretty exciting with Santa Anna wind gusts high enough we were glad he was driving. He could not have been nicer and freely gave all manner of tips about driving the rig.

Yesterday morning, Dave took all the time we needed and then some.
After passing initial run-up and inspection, the 120vac transfer switch failed and had to be replaced while we were doing the paper-work.

Yesterday afternoon was devoted to unpacking our boxes and distributing stuff around the coach in a decidedly haphazard manner.

This morning, while waiting for Colin to arrive, I turned on the TV and it booted to a solid red screen. Multiple attempts of power-of/power-on brought "no joy". One word to Steve and they were out immediately replacing the unit even though it did eventually start. The replacement is working perfectly even as I type.

In spite of the cold and the wind, there is a beautiful sunset wrapping around the picture windows and we are happy "campers". Thanks to everyone here for all the good information that led us to sign one the dotted line.
Once we get to Alabama. the next big steps are HWH levelers for Arby and Blue Ox/US Gear necessities for Curvy the Toad (2007 CR-V)

Lorna, you are brilliant for figuring that out.  Were it not for your "Duh!" moment, I might never have gotten it!

That is VERY witty, Carol & George.  Gold star for those names!

George and Carol, who will you use for this work and do you know how experienced they are? I might be interested in using them.

Just curious. I am an Alabama native, though my home is now in Colorado. Was born in Cullman. Yall from anywhere around there?

We live in Hoover, a neighboring city just south of Birmingham proper.
My best friend (used to be two doors down from us) is now freezing his butt off in Colorado Springs.

I'm not dead certain yet but Bankston Motorhomes in Huntsville seems to have a good reputation and I will probably let them do the brakes and tow-bar stuff. As for the HWH work, I don't remember the name off-hand but there is a HWH designated Master Repair Facility in Huntsville that I will probably choose for the levelers.
I'll do the final research when I get back to Alabama and let you know more then.

heh, small world. I live 15 miles NW of the Springs, and 2500 feet higher, on the shoulder of Pike's Peak, at 8500 feet. It averages 15 degrees colder here than the springs. If yall ever come see your friend, stop in and see us too. My wife is the world champion Biscuit & Gravy maker!!!

George -

Blue is waving a tire at Arby, north of you about 10 miles, in Surprise!  Be prepared, it's in the low 30's here at night, and hopefully the wind will stop!

Now talk about your coincidence...I'm a world contender for eating gravy and biscuits...the local Hardee's has a special table just for me. :-)))

Arby is waving antennae back at Blue. The winds were ferocious yesterday. Just west of Blythe, the dirt was flowing over the road like a river. Big class A's were parked nose to tail along the shoulder watching Arby go flying by in the capable hands of Colin Moore....probably saying "I wish my coach handled like that". :-)))

George (looking forward to a quiet day tomorrow)
