[snip] "Santa delivered an EasyL pochade box with tripod and lots of goodies for plein  air painting.  This and the fact that I have edited my studio painting equipment will allow me to paint on the road with everything I need packed into small spaces.  Will be using canvas board instead of stretched canvas and 12X16 is the largest format I will use." [snip]
Sounds nice, but my painting supplies consist of a ZIG water color set, 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/2"; and a pad of postcard size Canson Acid Free Montval 140lb. Cold Press Watercolor Paper.  It has the post card info pre-printed on the back of each sheet.  Love the ZIG set.  It's a great example of compact design.  It has a palette, 12 replaceable watercolor blocks in a removeable tray, a water bottle, a sea sponge, an eraser, a slick hideaway good quality paintbrush, and a 2B sketch pencil. The case has a fold-away easel stand on the back.
Then, of course, there are the other craft supplies that I store in a tackle box in the space under the drawers on the passenger side of the bedroom in our 30TB LD.  I suppose "real artists" don't play with shrink plastic and rubber stamps, but they make me happy! ;^)

After trying a bunch of different configurations, we finally got a cab curtain that we like.  It's a bit different in a rig with an entertainment center.  After trying to use a tension rod, we found it just didn't work for us (I'm such a klutz, I kept knocking it down every time I tried to access the entertainment center).  While I like the idea of replacing the curtains, I really can't sew a stitch (Terry had to make the bathroom and kitchen curtains) and it seemed like a pretty big project.

So I removed the original curtains and their track completely.  We bought a a large microsuede  coverlet (king size, a good weight but not too thick, $20.00).  Then we put snaps up on the ledge under the entertainment center and corresponding snaps on the blanket.  It drops all the way to the floor and pretty much has to be put up when you make camp, since so much of it sits on the floor and in the doorwells.  Just like the easy curtain (which we still use) it can be unhooked and dropped into the front seats when you want the front open.  It adds another layer of insulation, and I really like the way it looks,  I assume we'll only use it in cold weather as the rest of the time, we just use the easy curtain.
We messed with this design for a few weeks before finally settling on this, but we like it a lot.

If anyone is interested, here's a link to a photo.  It shows the whole thing as well as details of both sides (not great photos, but you'll get the idea).

Kate and Terry, nice job on the cab curtain.  It's a lot less bulky than ours - certainly easier to store.
How did you attach the snaps to the wall/frame?  Screws, I assume???

Thanks Chris!

Yes, we used screws, but we had to back them with plastic washers (about 1/4 inch thick) up on the carpet to raise the snaps above the knap. I like how flat it is, it takes up no room and really helps with the cold.  When you stick your hand between the easy curtain and the drop, you can tell how much difference it makes.

I also am quite happy to be rid of that ugly curtain slide.  If we ever decide to go that route, I'm going to look for a clear one instead of the white that LD installed.
