Seat covers March 24, 2011, 06:40:33 pm Yahoo Message Number: 121279Hi! I'm new to this list and just bought a 1999 LD 23 1/2' FD. Does anyone know where to find seat covers? It's in such great shape I'd like to keep it that way!-- *LindaLinda CummingsTuesday, Scout & Willing *[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Does anyone know where to find seat covers? --- "Seat covers" for the driver's and passenger's seats? For the dinette and/or couch? AFAIK (maybe someone else has had a different experience), there are no "stock" seat covers available which *fit* the LD's cab seats, particularly if your seats have the fold-down armrests; you might try googling for a source for a "universal fit" type of seat cover. People use all kinds of things to cover the seating/sleeping surfaces in their LDs to keep the upholstery clean and to reduce wear (or to cover up LD's "unique" fabric patterns!); I've seen blankets, comforters, bedspreads, beach towels, throw rugs, and several homemade solutions for "seat covers". I've made "throw and tuck" covers (three or so sets over the years) of medium-to-heavyweight cotton denim, twill, or duck, for the cab seats and the couches in my TK; the covers are simple to make, tough, washable, and easy to replace if/when they become worn. (BTW, if the upholstery in your new-to-you 1999 is in such good shape, the previous owner obviously kept the seating areas covered; what did s/he use?)Joan
Re: Seat covers Reply #2 – March 25, 2011, 10:57:49 am Yahoo Message Number: 121293We bought cab seat covers at Costco but Walmart would have some too. For the coach seats, I bought fitted sheets for the couch and flats cut in half for the dinette. That way each time we come back from a week or more of being away at the beach or lake, I just pull off the coach seat covers and throw them in the washing machine and dryer. No worries about wearing them out or paying for the cleaners. And we don't worry about dirty dog prints. We also use cheap floor rugs that are thrown in the wash too. When they wear out, we will get new ones.Do make it so that you can enjoy your rig.Denise
