(I didn't cover the passenger's seat, since I travel solo and that's piled with satellite dish and other stuff.) No armrest covers were included, though, so I had to make my own. (I hate having to rest my arms on hot, sticky vinyl in the summertime!) I used imitation lambswool to make armrest covers, and they worked out very nicely. :-)Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/

Re: Seat covers Reply #7 – February 15, 2008, 11:17:56 pm Yahoo Message Number: 89476Costco's prices are often appealing . . . I needed a few pieces of sheepskin once. Had a no longer needed cover from Costco, so decided to use that. To my surprise, what at first looked like a one piece cover was actually a patchwork of little pieces, all seemed together. Okay for a second quality cover, I guess, but totally unsuited for what I needed.bumper[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I ran the $ for a pair of sheepskin seat covers for an '02 E450 and the quote was $549 without armrest covers which would have been another $200.Chris
Re: Seat covers Reply #10 – February 16, 2008, 11:31:23 am Yahoo Message Number: 89486While I'm sure the Ruff-Tuff seat covers are very well made, $549 a pair is a lot of money. The sheepskin covers I got at Costco were about $60 apiece, and while they may be pieced together as Bumper said, you certainly can't tell it from looking at them. They're very attractive and wonderfully comfortable. As for the $200 Ruff-Tuff armrest covers... the ones I made required only about a yard of material (stretch-knit simulated sheepskin), using a simple one-piece pattern. (The pattern will be included in Eureka 2 later this year, but I'm sure you could come up with your own. :-) You could probably pick up a $5 remnant at any fabric store or Wal-Mart and make a pair of these in about an hour. They wouldn't be a perfect match for the Costco seat covers, but mine look fine. It's all a question of how much you're willing to spend... and on what. I figure the $600+ I saved by not buying seat and armrest covers from Ruff-Tuff will pay for a lot of nights of camping and a lot of miles of travel. :-)Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/

Every person's spending priorities are different; a justified or desirable expenditure for one person might be seen as a complete waste of resources by another. I don't happen to want *sheepskin* seat covers for either of my vehicles (for several reasons), but I appreciate Dan's suggestion of this seat cover company; they appear to offer choices of high quality products and their prices for "non- sheepskin", i.e., fabric, neoprene, etc., covers are comparable to what I've seen from other manufacturers. What's important to one person is a low or non-existent priority to another; here's an illustration of this from my long-ago youth: Some friends of my parents were prone to "poor-mouthing"; they "couldn't afford" to pay even a small part of any of their kids' college tuition, or get their car fixed, or their house repaired. But, "Dad" had no problem spending several thousand dollars cash on a handmade Purdy shotgun and two German Shorthaired Pointer pups and their hunt training. I may think that certain decisions/priorities/expenditures are nuts, but as long as someone is spending his/her own money, their choices are their own business. ;-)Joan

TIA For my 2006 Ford F150, I installed custom seat covers made from Cordura. A company call Marathon Seat Covers here in Bozeman MT. made mine. They have been in business since 1978 and their website is www.marathonseatcovers.com. They are removeable for washing and fit like a glove so they don't move around on the seat.
