Ted,
 Yes, we have already been up to NE and back.  We had to go early this year.  We decided on the return trip that the Corps of Engineers Recreational Sites were the best buy.  We stayed at several, and with the Golden Age pass, the cost with electric hookups was $8-$11 per night.  Very well maintained parks, but tending to be in the middle of nowhere.    Great as long as you are not in a rush.
 How is Pocahontas State Forest?  (I assume that's where you are.  It's kind of fun following your travels using the Datastorm users map.)
