Barry,
Yes, I highly recommend it.  It's a small CG, operated by Morris County.  The manager, Preston Sewall, has made improving the CG over the years his passion in life.  We like it for our first stop when heading south and our last stop when coming back north cuz it's open all year round.  The water hookups at the sites are shut down for the winter, but there is a water tap on the outside of the bathhouse if you need to fill your tank.  And the bathhouse is one the nicest we've encountered anywhere.   Last year Preston got the county to put in a whole new septic system, and when they were done, they repaved all the roads and sites.

You can find some pix on my web site below, if interested.

From your Datastorm link, you appear to be camping in the Mahlon Dickeson Reservation. How is it? Do you recommend it? Barry

Thanks for the recommendation Ted.

We'll try it the next time we are up that way.
I couldn't find the pictures on your web site.  Can you give me some direction or a direct link to them?
Your current location on the Patuxent River in MD looks interesting as well, but I don't see any park there. There is Greenwell State Park, but it appears to be on the other side of the river.  Do you have a secret camping spot there?
You may be the source of some interesting stops on our way up the east coast next year.

Barry,

Here's a direct link to the M-D page.

www.toad.fobria.com/index.asp?page=campgrounds/mahlon.htm
You should also be able to find it under "Campground Pix/Notes" in the left menu, then "Select CG's by State", then "New Jersey", and finally "Mahlon Dickerson Reservation."
As for our spot on the Patuxent River, I guess I'd have to say it's a "sort of" secret spot.  It's a military FAMCAMP operated by the Navy out of Patuxent River Naval Air Station.  It's a separate recreational facility on the outskirts of Solomons MD, with a huge campground.   And it's also only about 10 miles from our former home in MD.  One of the enjoyable benefits of being a retired military guy is the network of mostly really nice campgrounds that most military bases have.   However, their use is restricted to active and retired military personnel.
I see you're back in New Braunfels - at home?   Did you already make your teek to Manchester?   If so, you were a lot earlier than usual.
