We recently purchased a 1995 Lazy Daze 26.5 Mid-Bath, and just returned from a trip to Colorado. The LD has the Ford E-350 chassis with the 7.5L engine.

The MH preformed flawlessly on the trip EXCEPT when we got to Colorado, and on our return, we experienced several episodes of vapor lock (didn't know modern cars did that). Has anyone else experienced this problem and/or know how to cure it? We replaced the fuel filter, and the mechanic suggested we replace the fuel pump, even though it tested within limits (this is big $$$).

Also have a couple of other questions:

1. Does  anyone know the brand of awning used on this model? Ours  was missing when we bought it.

2. What
experience is everyone having towing with this model? Ours has the bumper hitch, and the tolerances look awfully tight. We would like to tow a 1991 Honda Accord.

Thanks for any comments.

For years the awning used was the Capri model from A&E (Dometic). This company is the largest RV awning supplier, but LD says this model is no longer available. I would check with the factory for a recommended replacement. They use awnings where the arms fold up out of the way.

The awning on our 95 MB suffered a broken pawl in the roll-up part of the awning this spring. We happened to be near Ontarion, CA, and took it in for a repair at Dometic's factory service center. They couldn't figure out what part we needed from their parts list, so they took apart an awning from stock and fixed ours free of charge.
Don't know if they actually still had that awaning in stock or if they cannibalized an old one, but it might be worth a call to them. I have the model number in our rig but the rig is being serviced at a shop some distance from here and I can't get to it for a week or so. If you call LD and give them the serial # from your rig they should be able to give you the model number. These awnings were also color-coordinated with the rig's paint job.
If you still need the model # after a week or so, e-mail me at .

We tow a 95 Suzuki Sidekick weighing about 3,000 pounds and have towed it about 40M miles back and forth across the country. Never a problem with the hitch on our 95 MB. It's not really bumper-mounted, but rather on a steel plate which seems to be an extension of the false chassis.
Never had a high altitude problem either, except for the usual loss of power. I don't know what the Ford fuel pump set-up is, but Chevy's from the 80's had a problem with a sock filter which was apparently over-looked when replacing fuel filters and pumps.
Our major problem whith our 95 has been manifolds and exhausts but fortunately this has been covered by the CA emmissions warranty.
