BTW, you actually can sell a depreciated vehicle...you just have to recapture the depreciation that you took previously. It's the same thing as if you sold a piece of business real estate, or a car that you used in your business. Your tax advisor can give you the specifics.Sonsie Conroy 2001 26.5 RK Central CA
Re: [Life With A Lazy Daze RV] dealers Reply #2 – May 17, 2006, 01:25:24 am Yahoo Message Number: 66814There are no dealers that sell new LDs. They all come directly from the factory. I don't know what to tell you about a fully depreciated RV. Maybe you could donate it to a charity or something. I tend to drive my cars until they have negligible resale value, and I give them to my grown children. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.Allen
Re: dealers Reply #3 – May 17, 2006, 06:43:56 pm Yahoo Message Number: 66840'does anyone know of any dealers.. who carry lazy daze." As Sonsie explained, new Lazy Dazes are sold only direct from the factory. Of course you can purchase a used one from a dealer, but you will generally not get a good deal that way. After all, dealers must make a profit! Buying from a private party is almost always a better way to go. If you open the Files area of this website, and look in the "Frequently Asked Questions" folder, you'll find a very helpful document on shopping for a used Lazy Daze. "we want to down size and must trade in our pusher.. can not sell because we have depreciated it" People sell used diesel pushers all the time. And again, you'll seldom get as good a deal from a dealer as from a private party, because dealers must add their profit margin. May I recommend a book? J.D. Gallant's "How to Outwit Any Auto, Truck, or RV Dealer Every Time" (http://tinyurl.com/o2vxd>) explains how dealers use trade-ins and other tricks to confuse buyers--it was written by a former RV salesman. I highly recommend reading it before you make any decisions about how best to upgrade from your diesel pusher.Andy Baird Tijeras, NM
