We are trying to figure out the best way to carry a couple of bikes and have looked at the ones that you hang off the ladder.  Is the LD ladder strong enough?  Does anyone have any experience with this set- up?

We carried a couple of bikes on the ladder for several years.  The ladder seemed to do fine.  Bikes don't really weigh that much, at least ours didn't.  We carry 2 sat dishes there now.

We had two bikes on a $CW$ ladder holder on our SOB for three or four cross country trips. The torque exerted by the bikes on the ladder eventualy made it into an "S" shape.  It was a well made ladder so I think the same thing would eventually happen to the LD one.  FWIW: Jack

Hi, There!

I purchased a bolt on receiver that fits around/through the back bumper and is quite secure (not for hauling a toad, though) and put my two bike Hollywood bike rack
