Memory Foam Mattress Topper - how thick to buy?

We are anxiously awaiting delivery of our 30' IB. Many here have noted that the memory foam topper is the way to go. My question - they come in 3 sizes: 2", 3" and 4" --- what thickness is best for the LD mattress??

The recommendation we received was based on our weight.  The 2" was suggested for an average person, whatever that means, and the 3" for heavier persons.  At 200 lbs. the 2" is very adequate.  The supplier also suggested that if one wished to have a more plush feel, choose the 3". You might check the thickness of the LD mattress to see if a fitted sheet will accommodate a 3 or 4 inch topper.

I recently put a 2 1/2 inch thick memory topper on my bed in my 30 IB and I think it is a little too thick, because when you open the wardrobe doors, they won't open all the way unless your push down on the mattress a little. But keep in mind that I also have a mattress cover, top and bottom sheet, one blanket and a bedspread on top of it as well.

Congratulations on your New IB!  You'll love it!  It's so nice to have your bed ready to go.  We put a 21/2" topper from Costo on it and love it.  We bought the queen size and noted that it overlaps the night Stand tables a bit and have thought to trim it there but the sheets fit over both mattresses.  We even returned the queen size at one point thinking that the full would fit, but it was too small.  Enjoy your Lazy Daze! lisa
