question about water pump
Yahoo Message Number: 58588
Hi everyone!  We've been going to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta group for the past couple of nights.  Really cool!!  We got to meet some of our wonderful cult people that were phantom's to us and to tour the infamous Gertie...quite impressive!! We've got some questions on the water pump that I'm sure you pros have the answer to. We turn on the pump and it takes a while for the pressure to build and stop the pump from running.  Then, if you run the water you have pressure for 10 seconds and then the pressure diminishes.  When you turn off the water the pump continues to run for a minute before the pressure builds up again enough to stop the pump. I know that we wouldn't have enough pressure for a shower.  Does this mean we need a new water pump? We tried turning the pump off and turning the hot water on and releasing the water pressure from the hot water heater but this still didn't help.  Any suggestions?  HELP!! Lisa and Jake

Lisa and Jake,

Have you tried re-establishing the air bubble on the top of the hot water heater per the LD manual insturctions?  This could perhaps provide a pressure 'buffer' that would allow the water to run longer between pump cycles (when you are using hot water).
