To our friends in America

Me, my best half Maria Pia, and all our family have been following many times a day the Katrina disaster.

We would like to express that all persons who are suffering directly or indirectly in USA are in our thoughts and in the thoughts and prayers of many of our friends and neighbours, as well many people in our country.

We are certain that you shall overcome, as it happened in 9/11, and in so many difficult moments in America's history.

Eudoro

Thank you Eudoro and Maria Pia.  We too have been watching in horror and sorrow.  The extent of the devastation is hard to believe.

Thank you Eudoro and Maria Pia. Your kind thoughts are greatly appreciated. We still have not had any word from my Aunt June, who insisted on riding out the storm as she has for so many years. When one is 84, it's hard to tell them anything different.
I haven't been able to let it sink in just yet about the loss of my hometown and all the memories with it. The people of New Orleans, of all racial and class backgrounds, despite how they may be appearing right now on TV, are a fun-loving, music-loving, good food- loving, life-loving people. They have a 'joie de vivre' that's hard to find anywhere else.
We were there in Red Zoe this past January. It was interesting to hear the sense of fatalism that most folks had regarding the coming of this "Big One", which everyone was aware of.
Don't believe any of the officials that wail, "We didn't knooow".  Hell - even I knew it was coming. And yes, we did know it could wipe out & flood the entire city. I'm disgusted that the crooked politics averted the funds needed to shore up those levees. This didn't have to happen. But I'm not going to get onto that soapbox in this forum.
I wish I could have 'Red Zoe' down there right now, helping in some way, but she'd probably be stolen in the anarchy.
Thanks for all of you who've personally emailed me regarding my Aunt. I'm still looking for her and I ask that you keep her and the rest of my dispersed family in your prayers.

Thank you all so much, Ilene & John 'Red Zoe' Camped out in Casey's RV Park in Westfir, OR Close to Lorna Dunham, whose been a great shoulder to cry on for the past few days.
