What experience has anyone had with State Farm RV insurance?  Our current Progressive policy costs $614 and I have a quote from State Farm for $453 for what appears to be an equivalent policy.

The difference may be in the replacement value. I've been with State Farm forever and currently they carry my LD policy. They pay only current bluebook value for total loss, not 'replacement' value.

I use State Farm for everything: home, two cars, & LD. The LD portion here in Las Vegas is $556. So it sounds like you're getting a good offer from your SF agent.

Never had to put in a claim with them, so I can't vouch for that.

We have had our LD for 5 years.  All of our property – house, 2 cars, & RV, umbrella liability – are insured with State Farm.
Currently, our premium for the RV is $631 annually.  To be honest, I'm not that sure about the coverage but it's doubtful it's for replacement coverage.

However, we have had a claim and a significant one.  It was about 5 months after we got the LD and it was parked in a storage facility about 18 miles from our home in Northern Virginia.  Since it was winter we were checking monthly on the LD, starting the generator, etc.  Well, to our horror when we went to check on it in January, we easily saw the damage.  Evidently, some big truck, moving van or something like that, had backed into the LD.  There was damage in three places – the left front fender, the top of the overhang and the left side of the wheel well.  Of course, no one left anything accepting responsibility.

We had to bring the LD to a State Farm office for an adjuster to make his estimate of the damage and we then proceeded to have it fixed.  Long story short, the adjuster really had no experience with the hourly rates to fix RV, their expertise is in automobiles.  The difference in repair rate is about 1/3 more for the RV.  The company we had fixing it (near Richmond, VA) went to bat for us with State Farm and the over $3,000 bill was paid by State Farm (without too much haggling especially on our part).
Fortunately, for us that's been the only experience we've had filing a claim for damages to the RV; it ended satisfactorily, and we still have State Farm insurance.

Hope this helps.
