See Lazy Daze models only at factory?
Yahoo Message Number: 56252
Hi all,
My wife and I will be retiring is about six months and are beginning our RV research. I just became aware of Lazy Daze RV's and decided to join this group to aid in my research. I'm liking what I'm hearing so far, and would really like to inspect various models first hand.
Can this only be done at the factory in Monclair? I live in San Francisco and really don't want to have to drive to So. Cal just for this. Does Lazy Daze ever exhibit at some of the RV shows during the year.

Thanks,

David G.

The Factory showroom is the only place to see all of the floor plans in one place. LD goes to one show a year, the Pomona RV Show in October. They usually display only three of the floor plans, one in each length. The Pomona showground are about 15 minutes away from LD's showroom/Factory.

If you are really interested in a LD, you should plan on a trip to SoCal, its the best way to find your perfect floor plan and to meet the interesting folks at the Factory.

David, Lazy Daze will reimburse up to $250 of travel expenses if you place an order within thirty days of visiting the factory. So why not fly down? :-)

Unless they've changed their policies since I bought my rig a couple of years ago, Lazy Daze doesn't reimburse California residents for air travel even if they buy. I don't know what their "geographical cutoff" is for flight reimbursement; the policy may include AZ and NV, too.  Their reasoning is (apparently) that CA (and maybe AZ and NV) residents are close enough to drive to the factory, and I agree.
David, it's a boring drive down I-5 from the Bay Area, but a factory visit is the only way to get the whole picture, and the only way that you'll be able to see and compare all the models. I suggest that you make the trip.

Thanks for the replies. Too bad about the reimbursement. But I guess I can understand the policy. If we decide to go with LD's we will visit the factory at some point. For now, I will check the latest RV show in Pleasanton to see if they are represented, and continue following this group.

I'm pretty sure you know that LD has a webpage with complete floor plans and specifications. It's not the same as actually being inside one of the units, but at least you could narrow down your preferences to two or three models and then try to find local owner who would let you take a look inside.
Just in case you don't have the website address (this directs you to the floorplans), here it is:
 http://www.lazydaze.com/flrplans.htm

Just click on any plan for a larger view.

I think the only other 5 star class C is a Born Free and they come with leather seats which my husband can't stand, and they cost a lot more.

Actually, there is one more 5-star Class C: Platinum by Coach House...but they START at something like $120,000!

You are wasting your time expecting to see a Lazy Daze represented at Pleasanton or any other show outside of the one at Pomona in October. That is the ONLY show they participate in, period. They are factory direct sales, no dealers, no middlemen. You deal straight with the owners, no one else. That's one of the major reasons they can hold their prices below what SOB offers. And, along with that you can expect nothing but quality work.

My offer is still open to view one in Concord.

David, as someone else mentioned, Lazy Daze attends only one RV show each year...the one in Pomona, CA during October.

As others have mentioned, the LD company normally attends just the one local show each year.

But change is

Steve,
I would be interested in seeing your LD. I sent you an e-mail at the address you spelled out, but if you didn't get it, please let me know here, or maybe e-mail me direct at:

I wasn't really EXPECTING to see a Lazy Daze at Pleasanton. Just thought I'd check since we would be there anyway.

Fran, Thanks for the tip. I will check out RV consumer group. Don't worry, we've been to a couple of RV shows already and have pretty much decided on class C of around 26'. Only questions are which one and what options.

David,
Forget boring I-5 and come down Hwy 1. Make a weekend of it and, while you're in the southland, check out the new Tut exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (google LACMA to get your tickets ahead of time).
The cool thing about Lazy Daze headquarters (aka "mothership") is they'll let you hang out in the showroom as long as you want. That way you can get a feel for which size and floorplan really suits you. They won't pressure you but will usually be happy to answer any questions. We personally recommend asking for Tim.

Unless the factory has changed its display of models, the 30'TB is not on the showroom floor.  When we ordered ours, it was over the phone, without having seen one in person.  The only LD we saw before ordering was a 26.5 IB.  There may be other models, such as front dinette versions that are not on the showroom floor.  To see these, your best bet is to ask online if there are models you'd like to view in your local area, or at a LD regional get together.  The floorplans on the Lazy Daze web site are only rough guides, without a scale or accurate measurements.
