I can endorse David's recommendation of Skype.

 Barry, do you use a headset, or the phone that Skype advertises?  The phone looks interesting, but I'm thinking more along the line of getting one of the headsets because of space considerations.  Plus, I think we should be able to find a headset at someplace like Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc.  From what I could gather on Skype's website, we'd have to order the phone, which is difficult to do when we're on the road.
