I just came home with the teal 1994 23.5 TK that was listed on eBay a couple of weeks ago (auction 4521594808).  Many thanks for the wonderful advice and support provided by this group, especially to Donna Benson (who helped with the inspection), Marti in Seattle who pointed out the eBay auction, Tyler Kerr who risked life and limb (specifically, his thumb) to check out an earlier candidate for me and who helped keep my enthusiasm under control, and to the group moderators, especially Andy who originally inspired this entire undertaking via his "Travels with Gertie" web site.
This rig has been introduced to the group before!  It was bought by Leslie Madge in June 2003, but her final post on these boards apparently was the following month, and the final maintenance receipt with her name on it is from December.  Its history between December 2003 and last August is a mystery, though it apparently traveled less than 1000 miles; it has gone only 4000 miles since April 2002 -- the date of the final entry in a VERY detailed trip log kept by the original owners.  The gal who bought it in August 2004 took just one brief trip before deciding that it was too small for her.  So this LD is rested and ready for a new busy life.
Although it has nearly 120,000 miles, it also has a new transmission and decent tires, and the body and interior are in excellent shape (no leaks, dents, rust, stains, weird caulk, etc.). The latest owner had neglected to winterize, so my purchase was contingent on having an RV shop OK the plumbing -- I ended up with a new water heater, bathroom faucet, etc., thanks!
During the week between the first inspection and pickup, I pored over the 4 pounds of receipts, manuals, and booklets, hence the detective story above. If anyone's interested in 1994 documentation, I probably have it.
This LD was launched in September 1994 -- just 3 months after it was ordered. It started out with a swamp cooler and AC (both standard), some extra electrics and an electric step. Later add-ons include a set of slipcovers; a Gertie-style pantry; and a kitty door behind the driver's seat, into the bathroom -- the very improvements I would have done myself.  Clearly, a match made in heaven.

Joanne:
Congratulations! Thank you for share your happiness with all of us!

Your case is a full example of teamwork, with so many of us adding something to a great result.  Your message number will be kept by me as a great example.

Starting with Andy and his Gertie which was also my inspiration to return to old dreams somewhat forgotten,a return strong enough to help me to go through some health ordeals, and keep the faith.

I expect to continue to follow your experiences, adventures and fun with...didn't you give a name yet to your new "companion"?

Happy for all of us and hoping to know you (and a lot of fantastic persons) on the road still this year,

Eudoro "life is good, with friends is fantastic" Lemos, Jr.

PS. You'd help a lot our "LD changes over the years" project if you could kindly send me all the measures, specs, tank capacities, etc. found in your LD manual, and other info you find interesting.

Thanks, George; the MA contingent of LDs (and Joanne's/Jo Ann's) is definitely becoming significant.

I would love to get e-mails from MA or RI owners who can recommend someone who can do Ford and/or RV-type work for me.  (Or even warn me where NOT to go!) With such high mileage, I'm bound to need something soon, and the local little 2-bay shop that I've grown so attached to can't deal with this rig.
Eudoro, I haven't named the LD yet; my super-creative daughter will be home from college for spring break
