Any recommendations for campgrounds?? Others should be able to give some better alternatives. But, a good place to start the thinking process is Valley of the Rougue State Park about 10 or 15 miles south of Grants Pass, Oregon on I-5. That is about where one leaves I-5 to start toward Crater Lake. It is a very nice state park with lots of places to walk, but that's about all.Linley

Hello Kerrs! My sister lives in Vancouver, WA and has been to Diamond Lake campground several times-they rave about it. There is a lot to do at that lake. There is a private campground with all the amenities and also an Oregon State campground on the lake. Both are said to be really nice. Lots for a family to do. There are websites, and you can put Diamond Lake into a search engine like Google and pull them up, I'm sure.Good Luck! The Shook Family

We stayed there two years ago in our LD with cousins who tented next to us. There is a biking/hiking path around the lake (11 miles around) that we pedaled with my cousin's 8 and 10 yr old kids. Very pretty and peaceful place when we were there (september). We never did drive into Crater Lake NP. If not, the campground in the park itself is nice...Mazama Village. It's near the junction of SR-62 and the southern entrance to the park.Linda & Earl 2004 23.5' Red TK From Quartzsite, AZ

Any recommendations for campgrounds?? Diamond Lake RV Resort a few miles outside the north gate of Crater Lake is a very nice stop 541-793-3318. Trailer Life has it rated at 8/9.5*/9. We enjoyed it last June. Be advised that last year when we were at Crater Lake(6-15-04) the North entrance was closed, due to snow, but reopened the next day.HTHJohn K[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
