Front end alignment September 19, 2012, 07:00:24 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133688After 8,400 miles, new valve extenders and tires balanced, I took my 24' LD to an alignment shop today for the final phase of recommended work. A front end alignment. I am not an experienced or trained mechanic. I depend on the skills of those who are. I was advised that the front camber was significantly off (left +1.65 degrees and right +1.57 degrees). LD was loaded with fresh water and gas. I Did not have sand bags loaded in front to simulate passengers as recommended by a member here. Shop owner advised me that an allowance would be made for that. Unique to Ford the shop owner then recommended that I have his tech install cam adjusters (one for each side). I had to trust him that I should have them. He provided me with the factory shims (as he called them) and showed me the new ones he installed. Other adjustments were made and after a test drive, I was on my way. This took a little over 2 hours to complete. My questions are for members that have this knowledge: 1.)Has anyone here had this done? 2.)Are they necessary? 3.) Was the camber significantly off? Thank you for your responses. James 2011 TK

Re: Front end alignment Reply #3 – September 20, 2012, 01:40:23 pm Yahoo Message Number: 133707Bill I have only driven it home - about 30 miles - it does feel better. I let go of the steering wheel for a short time and it tracked perfectly. There was slightly noticeable outer wear on both front tires - indicating the neccessary camber adjustment. I'm spending all this prevention money because I've seen what happens when tires fail. James 2011 TK
