LD Production Hrs. vs SOB

When we were in the ordering process last year, I beleive it was Ed that commented that when he attended RV manufacturers conventions the SOB  manufacturers were all attempting to get below 100 hrs. per unit, but that LD required over 500 hrs. per unit to construct.

I read a story last year on Thor Industries wherein it stated that they give their workers bonuses based on speed of manufacture.

No mention if there were bonuses given for quality of construction.

500-plus hours sounds lke a lot but it also sounds correct, based on what Ed said to me. I believe he said a chassis is in production about 6 weeks. 500 hours works out to roughly 62 eight hour days and assuming that an average of two or more workers may be assigned to a chassis at any given time, that roughly matches up with 6 weeks of total production time.
