Daytime Running Lights

Lazy Daze sells the Ford E-450 chassis without the Daytime Running Light (DTR) feature enabled. Since my insurance company offers a discount for DTR-equipped vehicles, I was wondering if anyone in the Forum had ever had this feature enabled after-market, and at what cost. I have not gotten a firm answer on this from any of the local shops. They don't know, it can't be done, it can be done but it's a custom job and would cost a bundle, why do you want it done anyway, we don't handle motorhomes, etc., etc.

Will,

The Ford Truck Enthusiast site is a great resource for this kind of question.

A quick browse through on the site turned up this article:

http://www.ford- trucks.com/article/idx/8/031/article/Converting_Your_Expedition_or_F1 50_Lighting_System_to_Utilize_Daytime_Running_Lights.html

or

This link takes you directly to the article on doing what you want to a F series truck.  But electrically, it's pretty much the same as a E series van.

Here is the parent site to the above, all electrical related articles:

A link to all tech articles:

Hope this helps,
