More LD Sightings!

Earl & I were walking around the vendors at Tyson Wells (south side of Kuehn Road), and came across 2 Lazy Dazes!  One is definitely a vendor -- the owners were in the process of setting up their wares.  We didn't see anyone to talk to, but it was an older, brown LD (don't know which model) on a Chevy Van 30 chassis.  There was no plaque by the door, but we could see where it had been, so assume it was bought used.
The second LD was an RV or two south of the one described above (we're assuming they are vendors, too, but it wasn't as obvious whether they were or not).  It was a red 26.5' MB, and the plaque by the door said "Winters." On the front, it says it was made in Pomona rather than Montclair -- anyone know what year this change was made?  (We jokingly refer to the LD's with "Pomona" on them as "knockoffs!").  We didn't get a chance to talk to the owers of this LD, either, but we'll be back another time, and I'll see if we can get more information about who the owners may be.

Perhaps you didn't hear it from Mr. Ed when you were at the Mothership.
The Mothership has never moved.  After Montclair was incorporated (1956) and later annexed the area where the Mothership is located, the city part of the postal address for the Mothership changed.  Before that the Pomona post office served the area.

Our 1980 RB has "Pomona" on it as well, and at that age, it's surely original! Guess the "knockoff" would be Montclair.
Actually, since they haven't changed the site of the factory, as far as I know, it's probably either the city boundary that changed, or they decided to change the city on their own hook for some reason. Pomona and Montclair are neighbors.

Alex, we were pretty sure that the factory never moved, and that the change in location was due to Montclair annexing the area where the factory is located (no, we didn't hear it from Ed...never really had any dealings with him when we went to the factory to tour and place our order).
So, anyone know what year the change was made from Pomona to Montclair?

FWIW

Perhaps the factory used the 'Pomona' name plates they had on hand, until the supply was exausted, and then reordered updated plates with 'Montclair" inscribed thereon. And, how about the Lazy Daze logo you see front and back? When did they change those from Pomona to Montclair.

Only the Mother Shop knows for sure.

My '05 say "nada". Being a recent Nevada refugee from the Bay Area, I was overcome with this irresistable urge to remove the Montclair stickers . . . along with most all the other lawyer prompted stickers plastered around the coach. I did leave the "Lazy Daze" (to remove it would be sacreligious) and in the interest of safety, the "LPG" sticker.

In Feb of 1998 I took my 1985 into the factory for some paint work, and saw Montclair decals on a new coach. The factory still had Pomona decals to replace mine.
