Dan,
There was some discussion earlier about noise in the LDC TV from the converter if you ran directly off the 12 v.  I take it you do not have any problem with this?
Barry, we had no problems with video noise in our Sylvania LCD installation, running directly from 12V instead of the power brick. We DID have audio noise when hooked to shorepower, with our 2.1 amplified computer speaker system running either from our 12V dvd player or the TV headphone jack. The problem was not actually hash from the converter, but a grounding issue that can arise when using appliances designed to run from a power 'brick' - converted to direct 12Vdc input. This was the case both with the LCD tv and the computer speakers.

The solution was a Radio Shack item called a ground fault isolator, basically stereo RCA cables run through transformers. Using this solution, the noise is now completely absent under all conditions, and the quality of sound is great.
