DVD demise much exaggerated December 31, 2004, 09:17:50 am Yahoo Message Number: 48513byline - DVD (For the new folks on the list - DVD stands for Death Valley Desperado's. A bunch of LDers who gather in a particular campground in Death Valley, California every year from Christmas to New Years. Some people come early, some stay later, some come later and leave early. No big-deal rules about that. We had heard that they were flooded out, so I called Art/Barbara the other day and left a message on their cell phone. By the way, all LD owners are welcome at the DVD - you don't have to be an original owner for this one.) I got a phone message back from Art and Barbara Bergreen (olderfosil). Art says they're alive and well at the Furnace Creek Campground in Death Valley, having a great time. He says that they were not evacuated from the campground. It was a bit windy the other day, but other than that, they're just fine. No cell service, so I don't know where Art had to go to send me this message. There is wireless (for the computer) at the Forest Service Station, but they don't park at that end of the campground. He said he'd get his computer down there soon (one of these days) and send us a detailed report. There are about 28 LDs there, and they've taken some fun off-road 4W trips, eaten way too much, as usual. I know they're having fun - this is a really fun GTG, and if you can get there on of these Christmases, it's worth the drive.Happy New Years!! Sarah
