We're on our way to pick-up our new 26.5 RB. Next stop, New Mexico...
Someone posted a 'highly recommended' RV campground after LD pick-up.
Anyone remember that post?

Thanks! Bryan & Midge

Hi Bryan & Midge,
On our way east while picking up Polliwog we reported staying at the Hacienda RV Resort in Las Cruces. Could this be the post to which you are referring? If so, the park is located just off I-10 exit 140 on Stern Avenue. Two things to remember: My Garmin 2620 gps is misprogrammed for Stern Avenue and took me off route. (Oh my God, did I really say that!) and there is no sign (city ordinance). Stern Avenue is the FIRST left once off of I-10 on the Avenida de Mesilla going towards Mesilla. It's a nice place if you're looking for amenities.

What would have been the 'location' of that campground, local to the factory or farther away? ? ? ?

A very good local campground is East Shore RV Park (1-909-599-8355) in the hills above the Pomona Fair Grounds, not far from the Mother Ship. Go west from the factory on W. Holt until you reach Fairplex Drive, follow it to a left turn at Via Verde. Or instead of the surface streets, you can go west on the I-10, exit at Fairplex and go left on Via Verde. The views from up there at night are spectacular.

In Florence, Arizona, the Desert Gardens RV park is beautiful and relatively inexpensive.

Paul,
That's good info, and we will keep that in mind, but I was looking for a place near the factory. We're going to stay a few days in Ca before starting the trip home.

Thanks!

We will be going to Apache Junction, AZ to visit relatives for Christmas. We'll keep Desert Gardens in mind when our welcome wears out

Bryan.

OK. Your original post mentioned only New Mexico. I'll second the East Shore RV Park in San Dimos recommendation. Nice park and handy laundry. We had a hard-surfaced site overlooking Puddingstone Reservoir and the total cost per night was $40.88. I know you'll enjoy the whole experience.

. . . Next stop, New Mexico...
Bryan and Midge - happy birthday!! Now darn it, Pete and I are sitting in O'Hare waiting to take off for NYC for the holidays. Wish we could have been home to meet and greet you - we have a 'highly recommended' campground right in front of our house. It's called the driveway. We have wonderful well water - electricity - and even a land-line for the internet starved.
Tell us all about your trip, and remember when you're coming through Albuquerque in the future, let us know.

Happy trails to you - Sarah
